Directions to LBI
From Washington, D.C.
Driving Directions
Take I - 95 North to Philadelphia.
Cross the Benjamin Franklin Bridge into New Jersey and follow the signs to Cherry Hill (Route 38) and the beaches (mainly you'll be staying on the left).
Once you've made the left onto the ramp that enters Route 38,
you'll have to quickly get all the way to the right onto Route 70.
Take 70 until you reach the junction for Route 72 East (It's a circle, but you don't have to go around, stay to the right).
Follow 72 for 26 miles right onto the island.

The more adventurous traveller can take US 301 North out of Washington
Cross the Preston Bridge over the Chesapeake Bay.
Take US 50 East to SH 404 East.
Follow SH 40 East until it turns into US 9 North at Georgetown.
You can cross the Delaware Memorial Twin Bridges over Delaware Bay or take the Cape May-Lewes Ferry (reservations required).
Continue on US 9 North to the Manahawkin Exit.
Take NJ Route 72 east to LBI.
Public Transportation
Take a train to Philadelphia.
Then take a train to Atlantic City.
Take NJ Transit Bus Route 559 to Manahawkin.
Taxi to LBI.
