Site Selection Update
Final closing was held on two lots on Zelus St. in Little Egg Harbor. These lots were purchased with funds received from HUD through a grant administered through Habitat for Humanity International. We are responsible to repay only 25% of the funds which we received through this grant over the next four years. Work is now underway to finalize all the paperwork necessary for settlement on a vacant lot on Falcon Drive in Little Egg Harbor.

Overview of HFHSOC Projects
The Family Nurture Committee is putting together a homeowners
manual to be given to each new homeowner. We are also working up a basic
budget and will customize it to each homeowner. We meet the 3rd Monday of
each month at 7 pm in the HFHSOC office and we welcome new members. For
questions, please call Betty at 294-3347.
The Construction Committee is in the process of accessing
a house in Tuckerton Beach which someone has generously offered to donate
to us. If it is sound and in good shape we will move it to the new lot on
Heron Road to be refurbished for our next family. Construction should hopefully
be getting underway within a month or so one way or the other. Anyone interested
in becoming a part of the Construction Committee please call the HFHSOC office
at 294-9777.
The Site Selection Committee has received grant money from
Habitat International for the lots in Little Egg and Tuckerton. Surveys and
assessments have been made, the title search is underway, and the closing
for both lots should be complete by the time you read this update.
The Grants Committee has contacted Atlantic Electric about
their grant program which supplies up to $1000 of electric appliances and
waives the $65 connection fee. We are awaiting the forms to be used. Also,
a letter was written to Maxwell House Coffee on behalf of HFHSOC, asking
for public relations help. No answer as yet.
The Materials Committee is looking for a few people with
some knowledge of building to help secure materials for our houses. If you
can give us some time please call the Habitat Office at 296-9777.
