Soroptimist International, comprised of four federations, is the world's largest classified service organization for executive and professional business women. The organization has more than 80,000 members in over 80 countries. Membership is by invitation and is based on a classification principle. This assures broad representation of the business, professional and economic life of the community. Soroptimists throughout the world are proud to be members of an organization whose sole purpose is to improve the quality of life for their fellow human beings. Soroptimist International of Long Beach Island was chartered on March 10, 1956. The club then had 18 members; today it has over 65. We meet the second Wednesday of every month from September through June.
