The membership role of Soroptimist International of Long Beach Island includes women from Long Beach Island, Manahawkin, Barnegat, West Creek and Tuckerton.  We strive to serve the community through six programs of service:

International Good Will and Understanding

We have a lot to be proud of:

  • We have worked with Southern Ocean County Hospital since 1969, for example, donating furniture, clothing, baby equipment, toys and money to the Pre-Natal Clinic at SOCH.
  • At the St. Francis Center, we support the following programs: Senior Outreach, Displaced Homemaker, Sexual Abuse and Assault, Food Locker.
  • Eden Institute

  • Youth Citizenship Awards

  • Adoption of one child through World Vision and another through Christian Children's Fund

  • The Long Beach Island Flag was designed by 12-year  old Jeffrey Huber in 1966, during a contest sponsored by the Soroptimists of Long Beach Island.  the sale of the LBI Flag has been an important source of funds since then.  
  • Other fund-raising projects have included cocktail parties, fashion shows, dinner theater parties, bus trips, and the sale of various merchandise.
